Chabarowsk "im Fernen Osten" gehört heute mit ca. 700.000 Einwohnern zu den 20 größten Städten Russlands. Es wurde 1858 als Militärposten am Zusammenfluss von Amur und Ussuri gegründet. Hier überquert die Transsibirische Eisenbahn den Amur, 8500 km von Moskau entfernt. Bis Wladiwostok sind es "nur" noch 700 Kilometer.
Der Strassenbahnbetrieb wurde 1956 gegründet. Im Jahre 2000 wurden 7 Linien (33,5 km) mit 100 Wagen betrieben. Seit 1975 verkehren auch O-Busse, heute auf 2 Linien.

Chabarowsk "in the far east" belongs today with approx. 700,000 inhabitants to the 20 largest cities of Russia. It was created 1858 as military post at the confluence of Amur and Ussuri. Here the Trans-Siberian railway crosses the Amur, 8500 km away from Moskau. To Wladiwostok there are "only" still 700 kilometers.
The streetcar system was created 1956. In the year 2000 7 lines (33.5 km) with 100 cars were operated. Since 1975 also trolley buses operate, today on 2 lines.
